About Andrew McFayden

A man on a mission, is one way to describe Andrew McFayden. He learned the ancient Celtic language of his ancestors, Scottish Gaelic, as an adult and quickly immersed himself in the song tradition. Andrew has a teaching degree in French and a Masters thesis written on the subject of Gaelic revitalization in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He is a teacher, sharer, and mentor who is always ready to teach and share what he knows. He has recorded and released two cds of Gaelic songs, done a promotional tour, and has taught several adult courses in Gaelic over the past few years. His albums have been described as "a pleasure for the ears, a journey for the soul". His most recent album "Open Eyes, Open Mind" has been called "a work of art, an essential listen" (Wildy's World).
