About Ana D
Ana D is from the northern coast of Spain, near Asturias. She joined Madrid's burgeoning musical scene (associated with the acclaimed independent label Elefant Records) and recorded her debut album, Satélite 99, with Javier Corcobado and Ibon Errazkin in 1997. Excellent European reviews followed and Grimsey Records picked up the album and released it in 1999. St Paul Pioneer Press: "... a slow burning wonder of hypnotic lo-fi whispers. Imagine a druggy dance floor on Saturn, upon which you are serenaded by a fallen Cocteau Twin, backed by a melodica, a synthesizer, acoustic guitars, a Hammond Organ and little else. Bewitching."
