About Amy Hart
Amy Hart grew up in the small town of Lake Forest, IL, a suburb of Chicago. She began writing songs in high school and by college was headlining her own shows across the country. She attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton Ca, where she began her solo accoustic musical journey on a Guild 212-XL. In the eighties she achieved local hero status in Chicago where she sold out the Rolling Stones "Emotional Rescue" at number one for two weeks on WLUP FM with the station sponsored cut "Sad Love Song" featured on the Chicago Rocks Volume one disc produced by John Ryan (Styxx, Doobie Bros, Santana). She was also featured on the next three local compilation discs in Chicago and hit the road amd moved to LA in 1985. There she scored a soundtrack feature on the teen cult film, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun the movie, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt. Her song "Too Cruel" was released on the soundtrack record on Mercury in 1985. She continued to write and perform on the West Coast for a few years travelling on the Lake Tahoe / Reno circuit and then moved to Nashville in the 90's. In 2000 she recorded her first full length cd, "Every Beat of My Heart" on her own label, Painted Rock Records. She gained distribution with the worlds largest digital distribution network, The Orchard and is currently working on a new cd. She currently lives in Destin, FL with her 16 year old daughter Emily. She plays live concerts with her five piece band that includes Tom Letenser on Bass, Little Rock Doc on lead guitar and Clare Buckman on the drums.
