About Ali Slaight

Ali Slaight grew up in Toronto, Canada where she performed in bands and musical theatre since the age of 11. Despite her relatively short career, she has a well-developed and mature vocal style, with strong jazz leanings. 2007's The Story of Your Life connected Ali's music to Canadians with more than 40 Million radio audience impressions and achieved Top10 status in February of that year. Recently the song also served as the soundtrack to CBC TV's Canadian Olympic highlight recap. Her rendition of Seal's Kiss From A Rose was nominated for best AC single at the 2006 Canadian Radio Music Awards. Her version of Etta James' At Last adorned The Real Divas Torch Light Volume 2 compilation. With her friends, Bess James and Stacey Kaniuk, she formed the singing group Take Three, and the trio have become popular with their versions of Oh Holy Night and Winter Wonderland. Ali also contributed two tracks to the 2006 album Pink Floyd Redux, released on the Zone3 record label. These were both covers of Pink Floyd, the tracks being Learning To Fly and Hey You. http://www.umusic.ca/alislaight/
