About Angelo De Augustine
Angelo De Augustine is an American singer-songwriter from Thousand Oaks, California. He has collaborated with and opened for Sufjan Stevens. He gained recognition for his self-released debut album "Spirals of Silence" in 2014. He has since released several albums, including "Swim Inside The Moon" and "Tomb". His music has been described as evoking a melancholic mood and dreamlike atmosphere. He collaborated with Sufjan Stevens on a single and a full album, "A Beginner's Mind". In June 2023, De Augustine released his fourth solo album, "Toil and Trouble". "Toil and Trouble" is a culmination of three years of work that explores themes of alienation, hope, and the search for meaning. De Augustine used a variety of instruments to create a unique and complex sound for the album, which draws inspiration from his own experiences as well as fictional characters and historical events. Recording the album took an emotional toll on him, but despite the challenges, the album is ultimately about finding beauty in a difficult world.
