About AGUIRRE

There are at least 3 bands, past and present, known as Aguirre: Present: An IDM band from USA. Aguirre is the duo of Elon Katz and Gryphon Myers creating extra-terrestrial club music by combining frenetic mutant electronics with shape-shifting beat avalanches. “New Sects” is equal parts swirling and chaotic synth debris, 90′s style IDM throwback, and hard-hitting electro pulse dance action. Twelve tracks of varying styles, tempos, and moods sprawl across this full-length cassette. A sludge/crust band from Bordeaux, France. Recently they relased a full length "Calvaire" through BlindDateRecords. Past: Aguirre was a band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. The line-up included Marcelo Moura in keyboards, Mario Serra in drums and Pablo Tapia in vocals. Marcelo Moura, formerly from the band Virus, created Aguirre in 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Inspired by the Werner Herzog movie (Aguirre, Wrath of God) they were supported by local heavyweights in the Argentinian music scene: Zeta Bossio, Gustavo Cerati, Julio Moura, Daniel Sbarra, Ricardo Serra y Tweety González. In 1993 Moura left the band, before recording their second album. The band incorporated Ricardo Serra (guitar) and Claudio Di Lorenzo (bass), who were already established on live shows . They split in 1996.
