-OZ- was a Japanese Visual kei rock band which formed in Niigata in 2004 and split up in 2013. Members: ** Vocals: Natsuki (Disrepute → Scare Crow as Natsuki (なつき) → -OZ- as Natsuki → retired/avocado farmer) ** Guitar: Tama (GYPSY (ジプシー) → -OZ- → unknown) ** Guitar: Aki (Disrepute → Scare Crow as Aki (あき) → -OZ- as Aki → CRASH 49 → unknown) ** Bass: Nao (GYPSY (ジプシー) → -OZ- → unknown) ** Drums: Zukki (USAGI (ウサギ) as ZUKKI (ズキ) → -OZ- as Zukki → Annie's Black support , GAGAGAGA (ガガガガ) support → Kayuu (華遊) support → 9999 DEVELOPER support → 28SAMA. support) History: The group came together when Natsuki (vocals) and Aki (guitar) from the band Scare Crow, and Tama (guitar) and Nao (bass) from the band GYPSY, decided to unite after their previous bands disbanded. They were soon joined by Zukki (drums) from the band USAGI, completing the lineup. The band chose the name -OZ- for its visual appeal and sound, as suggested by Tama. The band held their first live at Niigata CLUB JUNK BOX on December 10, 2004. -OZ- released their debut single, over again, in 2005, followed by the single Decay・・・ in July and their third single, and to the end, in September. Their fourth single, Scene in the misereal, released in March 2006, would be their last indies single before signing to L∞p・Ash RECORDS. With this association they promoted the release of the singles "Eve's apple" and "Adam's apple" by the end of the year. Additionally, the song "Cry the crime" was distributed as a gift along with SHOXX magazine in the December issue. In May 2007 they released their first EP titled SIX , followed by the single elf at the end of October. Their first one-man concert was held in Niigata and Tokyo on December 21 and 28 respectively. In 2008 they released several singles that achieved considerable success, such as "Bulk" which reached number 1 on the indie charts of the Oricon Singles Weekly Chart , and "Spiral" which reached number 12. In the beginning of 2009, OZ announced two new maxi singles, the first entitled "VENOM" was released on March 4th, and the second entitled "DETOX" was released on April 1st, 2009. On May 27, 2009 OZ released their 1st LIVE-DVD entitled "A FACT OF LIFE 20090218 -Territory TOKYO-" including ~10 songs. On September 16, 2009, -OZ- released their 1st album entitled "VERSUS" (CD+DVD) in Japan. It was also released in Europe as an CD+DVD Edition on Sepember 23rd. In 2010 they released the single "wisteria" , which reached sixth place on the Oricon charts. They also contributed to Loop Ash's 10th anniversary commemorative single, "LOOP OF LIFE X" released on June 30. On May 5th, the following one was "viridian" both including 3 new tracks. Both singles was later released for the European market as an Digital Release. In Summer 2010, -OZ- announced that they will release their 2nd studio album, entitled "Rouge" on November 10 ,2010. Their album Rouge, released in November 2010, was named to signify the band's growth and evolution. The title was chosen to represent a step forward in their musical career, much like a young girl maturing into a woman. They also released a Best of-album, entitled "BEST2006-2010" on December 1, 2010 with previous released tracks. Both albums was also released in Europe via their European label CLJ Records. -OZ- announced their European tour in January 2011, they held concerts in Germany, Finland, France, Hungary, Poland, Netherlands, Russia and United Kingdom. The band announced that they would disband in 2013. They released another best of-album, titled COMPLETE BEST ALBUM limited to 1000 copies, which includes 4 CD's with all material realeased since "Eve’s apple" until "CRUNK" including their last exclusive track "to CONTINUE". In the later half of 2013, -OZ- disbanded. Their last release, which was a re-recording of Again:st, was featured on the omnibus album TREASON -The cutting edge of Rock press- released in March 2014. Drummer Zukki went on to be a support drummer for various bands. What happened to Tama, Aki and Nao is unknown. Natsuki went on to work at his family's avocado farm. He had made a promise to his father that if the band were to split up, he would take over the farm. His father is in his eight generation, making it a historic farm. Natsuki taking over as the ninth generation has said that he is satisfied with taking over the farm and that "we've done everything we wanted to do with the band".
