About 張韶涵
Angela Zhang (Simplified: 张韶涵; Pinyin: Zhāng Shàohán; English: Angela Chang) is a Taiwanese pop singer and actress. Zhang was born in Taiwan and moved with her family to Canada at the age of 12. Although she enjoyed singing as a child, she stopped after a relative criticized her voice. In Canada, she resumed singing through karaoke with friends and began to recognize her talent. She subsequently participated in several singing competitions, winning first place at the Chinese-Canadian contest BCC Star with a performance of Zhang Yusheng’s “The Day Without Cigar” (没有烟抽的日子). Zhang was later invited to compete in the Taiwan finals but declined in order to continue her studies. She graduated from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in Vancouver. In 2000, Zhang returned to Taiwan to pursue a music career. While preparing to record her first album, her producers encouraged her to audition for the television drama Tian Yuxi. Despite her initial reluctance toward acting, she was cast in the role, which led to an acting career and helped increase her public recognition. Following the success of her television appearances, Zhang released her debut album, which was well received. She has since released multiple hit singles and remains active in the Mandarin pop music industry
