Peter Lipa is one of the most prominent personalities in the Slovak jazz scene as singer, composer, and promoter. For 25 years he has been the promoter of the Bratislava Jazz Days festival. His roots are blues, soul and classical mainstream, but also performs in styles from dixieland to latin, jazz chanson and spirituals, funk or rock.T The singers he feels mostly influenced by are Jimmy Rushing, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, Joe Cocker or Bobby McFerrin.
