USSSY (often stylized as uSSSy) is an experimental noise rock and avant-rock band from Moscow, Russian Federation, formed in 2007. They are known for blending Eastern-inspired traditional music elements, such as those from North Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and India, with noise and psychedelic rock. The band members have specifically modified their instruments to achieve unique sounds, including using a baritone guitar with extra frets to incorporate microtonal scales found in Persian tar music. Their music has been described as a "sonic revolution" and has evolved over time, with their recent output leaning toward the free folk genre.
