Band Members: The SciFientist - Bass , Production Cavin Chambers -Vocals, Production Snake Pliskin - Vocals 2.0 - Drums Aya - Guitars Max Powers - Synth n Sounds The Spindle Sect’s crossover sound has positioned them as one of the most provocative bands to emerge this decade. The Spindle Sect began it's life in Cape Town, South Africa in 2003, garnering a strong following from their explosive live performance and critical acclaim from debut EP, ‘Episode 1’ (4/5 stars FHM). The band toured constantly, always improving their craft, which lead to an even edgier and more energetic style. This home-grown success meant The Spindle Sect needed a bigger platform to let loose their viral enterprise. In the summer of 2008 the band made the move to the UK. Armed with the demo recordings for what is now the bands 2nd EP release ‘Is your Planet Safe?. The Sect set out to hit London hard. Focusing on building a London following though live shows and strategic online marketing, they have played headline shows at London’s greatest venues like The 100 Club, The Underworld, The Halfmoon and O2 Academy Islington to name a few. The Sect were invited to play an exclusive party hosted by rock/rap heavyweights Senser. Clink Magazine said, “This band have a sound that is monstrous and will appeal to metal heads as much as it will to fans of hip hop and electronica...” and “The Spindle Sect’s vibe can be compared to rock legends like Rage Against The Machine, The Prodigy and Cypress Hill...” Total Rock Radio “this is high energy cross-over hip-hop/metal executed with perfection. Think The Prodigy meets RATM, hints of Cypress Hill and loads of throbbing riffery set to make any audience bounce. This band is actually incredible” In 2009 the band signed a two year distribution deal with Copro/Casket Records for the physical and digital release of the ‘Is Your Planet Safe’, which was self recorded and produced in the bands own studio. The EP was released in August 2010 and is available at iTunes, Amazon, HMV, Spotify and several other online stores. Now hard at work on their debut album, The Spindle Sect sit alongside great bands such as One Minute Silence, Senser and Starseed on the Feedme Music booking roster. www.thespindlesect.com www.myspace.com/thespindlesect www.facebook.com/thespindlesect
