About the blacklight posterboys

The Blacklight Posterboys started in 1995 in Atlanta, Georgia as a way for singer/guitarist Curtis Clark to unleash his amazing songwriting abilities. The band consisted of Curtis (bass/lead vocals), Bill Keck (guitart/vocals), and Chad Booher on the drums. Then the band underwent some changes. They replaced Booher with another talented drummer by the name of Reg Rogers and then added a second guitarist, Mark (Martino) Dannells. Later on, the band lost one of their guitarist, Bill Keck, and then underwent yet another change. Curtis Clark then assumed lead role by playing guitar and the band added a very talented bass player by the name of James Britt. Now the band was ready to lay down the more modern pop rock tunes that Clark wrote so well. In June of 2000, the band was given the honor of winning an EMMY for their work on, "Have a Nice May," that promoted FOX 5 Atlantas 1999 May Sweeps. Also, the BLPBs song 'If The Animals Could Talk' was added (after being chosen out of over 5000 other songs) on the soundtrack to Road Rash:Jailbreak for Playstation and the song was voted as the best song on the game. The Blacklight Posterboys also contributed to a Atlanta Tribute CD to Paul McCartney in which they preformed the song "Jet". The band, even though getting huge success, split after only 4 years together. The split came as a surprise to many because the band had just released it's secound full album, Physcotic Love in January of 2000. There last show was at the Dark Horse on March 10th. Mark Martino auditioned for spots in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Matchbox 20, and Marilyn Manson, then finally joined Atlanta's own Brand New Immortals. He now plays with the Warm Gunns along side BLPB's drummer, Reg Rogers. Curtis is now part of a live rock karaoke band called Metalsome Monday. Participants choose one of 150 songs to be played by a live rock band while they let the true rock star inside shine! Bill Keck now lives in Nashville and is getting a whole new look on music and is also producing his own. ( Even doing a few remakes of some posterboys songs.) The BLPB Fansite wishes all of these guys luck and hope they keep doing what they love. MAKING GREAT MUSIC!!
