The Avonden is an indie band from The Netherlands, fronted by Marc van der Holst (also of Hospital Bombers and Spilt Milk). The group's name is taken from the novel 'De avonden', the debut of the famous Dutch author Gerard Reve (1923-2006). The Avonden released three albums: God Is De Liefde (2014), Nachtschade (2016) and wat een cirkel is (2018).
