There are three bands called Svelte 1. Svelte was formed by two ex-Supergroove members, Tim Stewart and Ben Sciascia with drummer Jamie Woolright - son of legendary New Zealand bass player, Paul Woolright. The three piece have spent the last year writing, rehearsing and playing shows in Auckland and Wellington. The band performed live on National Radio's ‘Home Grown’ and on 95bfm's 'Fancy New Band' and have played shows with The Exponents, Die! Die! Die!, The Bads and OdESSA. Svelte was an indie band from Vancouver, Canada which was popular for their "Five Alive Song" (which they didn't actually like playing live) and the tracks "Pollution," "1985," and "Ananya". They broke up in 2001 and the members went on to other projects. 3. Svelte is a shoegaze/ post-punk four piece currently active in San Diego, California.
