1) Shantelle (or Shantel) was a freestyle singer in the 80's. She had a hit with "Love Attack". 2) Shantelle is a noise/electronic/spanish pop band from Tijuana. The three of them used to play in other local bands from Tijuana such Siameses, Ambiente, Belafonte, Musica para viajar, Globo and recently in Ibi Ego. Shantelle is the final cut of the mix of those experiences. They have played with a drummer without success, so that's the main reason to use a drum machine instead. Their sound is also a mix of influences like Joy Division, Radiohead, My bloody valentine, maga, los planetas, new order, cocteau twins, the beta band, blur, the jesus and mary chain among many others.
