About rapid creek
Rapid Creek began as rock tribute to God and Country for a local small-town Idaho 4th of July celebration in2006. Ron Clayson auditioned over 500 “Rock” songs and was extremely dismayed by lack of positive material in the genre. Up until this time, Ron had only played Organ and Piano in Church. Ron recruited Dave Morrison– a retired road-warrior - to do sound and play bass/guitar, and the high school band teacher, a local Pastor and Dale – a ‘fine’ piano player – to fill out the rest of the band. Dave wrote American Liberty for this event while Ron worked on Atlantis. After a year and a half of constant personnel change, Dave’s and Ron’s realization of a patriotic rock band with original material was not coming together. Dave’s and Ron’s desire to finish the project convinced them to record it all themselves. They cranked out a bunch of demos to establish their style and to cater to their strengths. Dave played guitar, fretless bass, synthesizers, drums , and drum programming, while Ron played piano, strings, organs, bass, drums, and winds from his Roland Fantom X8 keyboard. Dave tends to be more rock oriented; Ron, more mellow. Dave likes classical synthesized sounds; whereas, Ron likes modern sampled sounds. When they get together and play ethereal sounds and noises together -- a signature of the Rapid Creek Sound – magic is in the air. Original Demos can often be found at www.rapidcreekband.com.
