About oceansoflight
oceansoflight is an effort by Ruaan van der Spuy and Helena Marais to create multi-layered, multi-faceted music without a particular niche in mind. The South African project started in 2009, initially experimenting with a variety of styles and influences ranging from electronica, break-beat and even classical compositions which all gradually converged into a more rock-orientated endeavor. Their first D.I.Y EP entitled "Patterns" was released on 12 August 2010 and is available for free download at http://oceansoflight.bandcamp.com/.
