About nothingstar
After the departure from Stutter in 2001, a local band from CT, Daryl Gall (20) who was on vocals, and Chris Sahloff (18) who was on guitar decided they needed to stick together and look hard to find people to get a new project going. They knew what they wanted to do, and were hoping they would find the right musicians for the job. The auditions began. Some were good. Some were pretty good. Most went really bad. A good friend of the band gave us a name and number of someone looking to get into a serious project. We gave him a call, had him come and jam a few times, and decided that he was who we were looking for to be behind the kit. His name would be Ryan Smith ( 19). With a recent problem we had with the bassist at the time, it was the decision to let him go and find someone new. That someone new turned out to be a Mr. Jim Beitzel (17). As a 4 piece, it was cool but definitly lacking. It was a feeling that we needed to have another guitarist to give the sound a more thick intense approach. Not only have both guitarist going at the same shit at the same time to give that heavy thick approach, but to also have the ability to have one doing one thing and the other doing something totally different. Stepping into the position would be former lead guitarist of the local band Headstrong and party animal Chris Rees(20). Headstrong called it quits back in 1999. Daryl was in Headstrong along with Mr. Rees, singing apart of that project as well. After one full jam as the fivesome, NothingStar. became official. With the heavy tripped out rock sound combined with melody and hardcore, NothingStar. is together to make a mark in the ever dying CT scene. Once done here, playing out of state shows will not be something that's overlooked. To get together with some good buds, some good bands, hook up a tour and continue the spread is just a dream waiting to become reality.
