About midair
Midair is an instrumental rock band from Roanoke, Va. Comprising of members Troy Gatrell (bass), Ethan Gensurowsky (guitar), and Will Hooper (guitar) and Will Wagstaff (drums). They combine math-rock dynamics with a post-rock like approach. The band has been trough various versions, starting as a collaboration between Gensurowsky and Hooper in the summer of '08. With the addition of Matthew Sedivy on guitar and Will Wagstaff on drums, that band progressed to it's second stage, playing several shows until a hiatus. With Sedivy leaving the band, Wagstaff, Hooper and Gensurowky continued as a three piece until the addition of Troy Gatrell in August of 2009. The four played various shows and recorded an ep entitled Mister EP. Gatrell left the band and Spencer Erhart took his position and appears on their album Bopsock to be released summer 2010. After relocating to Richmond, Gatrell was back on board and they have been playing numerous area shows. A new album is in the works, expected to be released in May 2012 http://MIDAIR.BANDCAMP.COM
