About Mägo de Oz

Mägo de Oz (Spanish for Wizard of Oz, with a metal umlaut) is a Spanish folk metal band from Begoña, Madrid, formed in 1988 by drummer Txus di Fellatio. The group became known for incorporating Celtic influences into its music, including the regular use of instruments such as violin and flute. According to founding member Txus di Fellatio, the band’s name was chosen to reflect the idea that life is a yellow brick road on which people travel together while pursuing their dreams. On October 26, 2018, the band performed a concert with a symphony orchestra at the WiZink Center in Madrid to mark its 30th anniversary.
