About maddame...
Is basically an Alternative / Heavy Rock Band from Malaysia highly inspired by the seattle sound. Enjoy us :) It all started in Field Ville April 2005 where Josiah and vivas met each other where they both loved playing grunge and decided to merge to make a band. During that time, they made a band with friend named "Freaks Make A Date" but failed. After silence for 2 months, vivas met Josiah again and decided to try again, with a few friends. They didn't have a name for the band, but they played music like Funeral for a Friend, Jimmy Eat World, and some other things that went with it. By that time they met marcwies on the drums. After a while they got bored playing the same songs and wanted to create their own songs. At that time, Josiah fell in love with Aero Zeppelin by Nirvana. Even tho he has been listening to Nirvana since 2001, that song just gave him ethusim to perform a grunge band. When the decision was finaled, vivas and Josiah started to make music, even tho without a drummer. First song in the band was Broken Heart Shapes, but the song has not yet finished. It took a while time for them to find a drummer until Vivas decided to give marcwies a call. They didn't know either he liked grunge or not. And the result was satisfying. marcwies joined the band. They went to the studio every week to create their own music, First song was Broken Heart Shapes which was finally completed thanks with the help of marcwies. It showed Josiah, vivas and marcwies capability. After completing 7 songs, maddame released their first EP which is "Soundsoverdose" in 2006. maddame... also made good relationship with a band called 'Teaser Opera' an Emo Metalcore band lined-up by Junk, Kay, Farid and Sheikh. The bands met with a close relationship with Josiah. They decided to play shows together when ever one of them gets an offer. It looks like that both of the bands will have a ruff time trying to get their bands in a good status because of the police enterfearance. There are no more gigs in Kuantan where stops the bands to chase their dreams. But when there is a will, there is a way.......i dont care if there's no more gig in kuantan!!(vivas). Somehow when problems come around some people cannot go futhure marcwies had to quit. Looking for a drummer Josiah met up with Kay and the joined 0n the 13 of November 2006 for as a sessionist player. January 2007 Bido ex-drummer from Vivas old band met up with with Vivas again after a total lost contact for 1 years finally showed up. Perfect time! yelled Vivas and ask Bido to join maddame... . Bido said he didn't have any problem. The fun will begin for the same road but diffrent speed. In time maddame is moving with the sessionist in kuantan Chemat from 'memrorial of the dead roses'. Its quite hard because of the distance between Josiah, Vivas and Bido is very far. Emotions day by day grew too much conflict and work interfered. Day and night Vivas and Chemat had to work worried Josiah too much, showed that in future maybe a few gigs might be cancelled. To avoid that from happening, end of March josiah recruit Terry and Paul fron Natures Rebel. But could go far enough do to Terry's personal problems. By mid of April Josiah meet up with 'guitar student' long friend Art from Catharsis. Art showed the progress of his skills and was recruited as a bassist. Art introduce Ashie to Josiah and said that Ashie is a good drummer and suitable to play in the band. So Ashie, from Punah Ranah was recruited as a drummer for maddame.... Now maddame... is moving active with lined up by josiah theAuty student, Art, and Ashie. The band has been moving quite active on 13th August 2008 for the first time in life the band was interviewed by X-fresh.fm thanks to Lan from www.undergroundo.tv and Tiger from Mosic Entertainment for the booking and all. The Interview was more like a promotion for the Merdeka Music Festival 2008 on 30th August 2008. Even thou the band has been through an interview, maddame... still find themselves looking for a label after leaving Micro Music. There was no conflict between maddame... and Micro Music, but it was an arrangement for maddame... to check on a few alternative plans to run as a single runner on road. A few issues came up saying that the band is a traitor to a certain region, which is not the bands fault. The band is from malaysia not to a certain region. The band does not like to claim themselves 'apart of....?' or what so ever. The band thinks that the Malaysian scene is under one roof and should claim themselves as a Malaysian band. When Ard and Ashie joined the band on May 2008, the influence of the shifted from a Nirvana sound to a little bit advance sound which has been claimed by the listeners, but still has the Nirvana shadow in between (Its not like it is so easy to write your own songs). The band is still struggling to create their own sounds and waiting for listeners to say that one scentens "New Wave". But till now the band has not yet herd from the listeners that maddame... is a new wave of the seattle sound. By October 2008 maddame... joined Mosic Works, under management by Tiger (From the band Priority) and Izan (From Whimsical). A close relationship slowly developt because of the love of music. Most likely both Mosic Works and maddame... share the same vision and tired up a knot between both party's. This blog will be updated from time to time :) Cheers, Josiah theAuty student
