About hissquiet

Hissquiet uses glistening tones and dark ambience to blur the lines between comfort and chaos. Working from a home studio in the mountains of New Hampshire as a one person project, Hissquiet is constantly perfecting a style that can be akin to early ambient Aphex Twin, Tim Hecker, or Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Tracks like Low Light // Light Love instill a disorienting euphoria to happily fold into, whereas tracks like The Grip on My Gut build dark haunting scenes that almost feel like getting lost in a desert. As you move further through the debut album, hints of an almost post-apocalyptic mood can be felt vibrating through worn recordings and rippling reverbed guitar. With a refined minimalism and lightning focus on sound design, Hissquiet displays a flawless ability to create scenes and emotions through vast evolving soundscapes. Listening to Perpetual and Ever Morphing Truths from start to finish will provide you with a sonic journey that shouldn’t be missed. Hissquiet is also an experienced graphic designer and fine artist, having created their own logo, album art, and even the typography and ink work on the physical cassette release of their debut album. Hissquiet released their first album, Perpetual and Ever Morphing Truths, in 2019 on Illektron Tapes. The album was initially released digitally and on a limited run of cassettes.
