About friso
FRISO (real name Friso Dubbeld) is a German singer, songwriter and producer from Hamburg. He grew up on the outskirts of Hamburg, playing glockenspiel at age five and piano from age six, before shifting into modern music production. He came into wider public view as a live DJ for the singer Paula Hartmann between 2020 and 2024, touring with her on large festival stages like MELT and Splash! Around the same time, he co-founded the artist collective TooLoudForTheRoom with friends and fellow creatives (including ELEF, moé, ghostboo, Lenzy, Sant, and producers Lawin, Juri and SOMA). FRISO released his first solo EP, "Lost Tapes", in English in 2022. In 2023, he switched to German lyrics, releasing songs like “Serpentinen” and “Schon Ok,” which immediately drew attention and placed him on Amazon Music Breakthrough’s “Artists to Watch” list. In October 2024 he dropped the EP “10 qm”, a deeply personal project named after his ten-square-meter shared room in Hamburg — a small home studio and creative sanctuary for him. His 2025 EP “Luft zum Atmen” deals with themes like self-doubt, growth and letting go. The EP’s production was challenging: after weeks of work, he lost his laptop and recordings — but used that setback as a turning point. Live, FRISO is known for creating emotional, atmospheric performances. He’s on his “Luft zum Atmen” tour (scheduled for November 2025) through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His sound is a blend of pop, rap and electronica — intimate yet expansive, rooted in personal experience but open to the world.
