Chicago's Dead Dragon Mountain is largely a recording project by Jacob Essak and Anthony Dunn of Sun Splitter which explores a vein of deep psychedelic music saturated with doom, black metal, noise and industrial. While improvisation, found sounds, and obsessive layering are important aspects of DDM's creative process, they also employ a wide variety of synthetic drum's/rhythms, oscillators and keyboards resulting in long free ranging psych/drone meditations to short brutal black doom attacks.
