About Zingaros

New Gypsy Tango The music these artists play, involves two different styles: gypsy and tango. Whose blending gives rise to unique genre characterized by the passion and the euphoria coming from gypsy music and the melancholy and nostalgia from Argentinian tango... The music from zingaros is sensitive and descriptive for it brings to mind the life experiences of Eastern European gypsies by means of chords and sounds that spring from Argentinian tango. In October, 2004, their first Cd "Black eyes" was released, which was made up of both Russian folk tunes and Eastern European gypsy melodies, together with compositions of their own harvest. The songs, either sung in Romaní and Russian or only instrumental, create a colourful palette of sounds which give testimony of gypsy stories and scenarios portraying: a spring morning, gatherings around the fire, cold evenings and the gallopings of distant horses . They also describe the wind, dances, loves and dreams. Everything is there calling upon you to feel... In 2008 they recorded his second cd called "CIRKARI" and released in 2010 in UK with the name of "Gypsy Music From Eastern Europe" by the label ARC music. In 2011 the track "Sin Regreso" where included in the compilation of 35th anniversary of ARC Music The band was formed in winter 2004, When the guitar player and violinst player got together by chance after jamming. They began to play as a duo at different venues, in the search of their own musical identity. Later, the accordion player joined the band. This combination was the key to defining a style filled with originality and feeling. The elaborated fusion of Slavonic gypsy music, tango flavour, Hot club nuances and contemporary chords, opens up inexhaustible horizons to be explored. Musicians: Alejandro Montero Having a a passionate way of interpreting rather than an academic one, he developed a great ability in the art of strings: Guitar, Bouzuoki, Mandolina, Tanbura, Saz and Balalaika, which gave flavour to his balkanic, oriental and gypsy interpretations. He took part in several Greek, Arabian, Jewish and Armenian bands (I-Xenites, Mikonos ensemble, sefardi ensemble) He founded the gypsy band "Zingaros in 2004. David Macchione He studied violin at the Suzuki oriented school and musical composition at the Cordoba national university, Argentina. At present he graduated of the teaching career in music arts at provincial conservatory. He made incursions into various popular styles (Tango, folk, etc) He performed as a guest musician with well-known artists, such as, León Gieco. Alexander Garate Of vasque descent, he started his musical studies at the age of 6. He developed a special interest in accordion at the San Sebastian Conservatory. He took part in a national Reina Sofia contest, Madrid. He settled down in Argentina in 1991. At present, he teaches accordion at collegium, Córdoba (Argentina).
