About Zuzana Smatanová

Zuzana Smatanova was born June 14, 1984 in Sulov-Hradna in Slovak republic. She is a Slovak pop-rock singer. She sings in Slovak and in English languages. She writes her songs herself. Her musical style has been compared to both Avril Lavigne and Alanis Morissette. She plays piano, flute, and guitar. In 1998 she was accepted to the Pedagogical and Social Academy in Turčianske Teplice, but she was attracted more to making music than to being a teacher. She won the Slovak Coca-Cola Popstar (2003) competition and the Discovery of the Year category for Aurel 2003.
