About Yuval Raphael

Yuval Raphael is from Ra'anana, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. She began her professional singing career in 2024 when she took part in TV talent show HaKokhav HaBa, captivating viewers with her vocals all the way through to the final of the competition, which she won. Despite the relatively recent start, Yuval's life-long dream has always been to become a singer, with a particular interest in the soul and R&B genres. As a child, she listened to classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Scorpions, as well as iconic singers such as Beyoncé and Céline Dion. Performing on stage in Basel won't be the singer's first time in Switzerland. As a child, Yuval lived in Geneva for three years, where she spent a lot of her time skiing, horse riding and playing tennis. Yuval speaks 4 different languages - English, Hebrew, French and Spanish. She learnt how to speak French during her time in Switzerland. She is also a Nova Festival terrorist attack survivor that occurred on October 7th in 2023 in Israel. In 2024, Yuval took the floor at the UN Human Rights Council on behalf of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, she was speaking about her past experience and advocating for more to be done in returning the hostages.
