About Your Name In Lights

Your Name In Lights was an experimental post-hardcore band from Los Angeles/Compton, California, United States who later relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. The band did a self-titled EP in 2006 and their full length Hello City in 2007. Bio from their Myspace in 2007: "From the hood of Compton, California a band named Your Name In Lights started in 2004. The reason why the band is called Your Name In Lights is because from growing up in the hood of Compton, you will always have cops shining and flashing their lights at you. So, that's how the name came up. After being together for a few months, they packed up and left the hood and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ever since living in Albuquerque they've gotten to play lots of local and out of state touring shows and build a loyal fan base which their fans have their back as much as YNIL got theirs! Your Name In Lights is a band who created the sound of a hybrid between a ninja and a ballet dancer fighting a caveman with guitar nunchucks! Within the 1st year of YNIL’s career they have managed to sell 1,500 homemade packaged and self recorded EP/CD’s, DIY toured through the Midwest and West Coast, played SXSW, Warped Tour 2005, and also went on the road for a week with Rufio and The Spill Canvas. During their second year they won the Ernie Ball battle of the bands 9 out of 10,000 bands and received $25,000 is new gear, a week on the Ernie Ball stage of Warped Tour 2006, and was featured in Guitar Player Magazine. YNIL came out with their 2nd release and 1st full length CD titled “Hello City”, and will be having the CD release show @ Launchpad (www.launchpadrocks.com) May 4th, 2007!" Members: Mario J.
