About Yesterday's Children
A sort of obscure Connecticut group who recorded one eponymous LP and a classic psychedelic garage punk single (To Be Or Not To Be, which can be found on the "Psychedelic Unknowns" compilation). While the debut single was more like the garage rock of the mid-sixties, by the album (in 1969) the group had expanded into more hard rock and psych; this album is full of psychedelia and loud, sizzling lead guitar playing. It sounds a bit like Blue Cheer and fans of that band will like this. The group was led by brothers Denis Croce on guitar and Richard Croce on vocals, and Chuck Maher and Ralph Muscatelli on bass and drums. The lead guitarist was little known Reggie Wright. The reissue on Italian obscure specialist label Akarma 179 is a nice remaster of the original. Listen to Evil Woman, Love and Things, and What If I.
