The ensemble Yashlik (Яшлик) is the founder of the Uighur (uyghurlar) people's stage. The ensemble was formed in the USSR in 1973 at the State Republican Uighur Theater. The founder of the ensemble is Мурат Ахмадиев, the artistic director and vocalist of the ensemble (currently a deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
