About YŪT

YŪT is a Latvian electro pop duo. Origins and formation The Latvian duo YŪT was founded by Emīls Deivids Zučiks and Matīss Jānis Berzinskis. Their music blends electronic production with dreamy pop melodies, creating a sound that feels both accessible and emotionally rich. Breakthrough Their debut single “Tuvu”, released in spring 2024, gained notable traction in Latvia. It earned a nomination for the domestic music award GAMMA (Radio Hit of the Year) and drew attention to the band’s fresh voice in the local pop landscape. Soon after, the song spent around 20 weeks among the Top 10 most-played tracks by Latvian artists on radio. Debut release and recognition Following the strong reception of their debut single, YŪT released their first mini-album “Sevi”. That release helped cement their presence in the Latvian music industry. They were also nominated for New Artist of the Year at the GAMMA awards. Artistic style and themes YŪT’s music is characterised by airy electronic pads, clean pop hooks and lyrics that explore personal emotions, self-discovery and the blurred boundary between dreams and reality. As Matīss puts it, one of their songs is “about the moment when the boundary between dreams and reality fades”. Their themes often include closeness and distance (“so close, yet so far”), the urgency of feeling and the introspective search for identity. Live presence and notable appearances YŪT have performed at prominent festivals in Latvia, including Positivus Festival, where they were noted for their vibrant pop energy and emotional delivery. Their live sets combine emotive vocals, polished production and a stage presence that emphasises connection with the audience. Recent developments In 2025, the duo released a new single titled “Sevi”, which also gave its name to their mini-album, marking an evolution in their sound and inviting listeners deeper into their emotional landscape. They also embarked on their first joint Latvian tour alongside the duo Vēstulēs, performing in cities such as Cēsis, Liepāja, Jelgava and Riga. Impact and outlook Though still early in their career, YŪT have positioned themselves as one of the more promising new voices in the Latvian pop-electronic scene. Their work demonstrates an ability to appeal broadly while retaining a depth of feeling. With their first full-length beyond the mini-album likely on the horizon, their evolution will be one to watch.
