About Wild Bones

The Wild Bones are an electric blues band from south Sicily formed in 2009 by four young friends of the Hyblean music scene. The band is composed of Santi Ciarcià on vocals, Davide Sittinieri on guitars, Fabio Emmolo on bass, and Nuccio Pisana on drums, and includes an original repertoire of tough blues with electric and rough sounds mixing slide, funk, country, and rock. The Wild Bones present a repertoire that pays homage to the great masters of the genre such as, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters, B.B King, Joe Bonamassa, and Robert Johnson. In 2012, the group had the pleasure to play in various major international festivals in Italy: Deltablues (RO), Etna in Blues (CT), Blues in Town (MT), and South Italy Blues Connection (ME), opening for Sharrie Williams (USA), Brian Templeton (USA), and 24 Pesos (UK). In June of that year, the Wild Bones won 1st place at the national finals in Italy of the “International Blues Challenge” (organised by Blues Foundation). Following which, in January 2013, they represented Italy in the international final in Memphis, USA from January 29th to February 2, 2013. This opportunity allowed the Wild Bones to discover the roots of blues music during their travels through Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana, beginning in Nashville and concluding in New Orleans. On February 3rd and 4th, they played in two historically significant venues of blues culture, Red’s Juke Joint and Bluesberry Cafe in Clarksdale, Mississippi. During their two nights there, the Wild Bones had the pleasure of meeting hailed blues musician Watermelon Slim who had expressed his enthusiasm for their previous show and so joined them for an exciting final jam session (the first night on the drums and the second singing). On their return from the USA, the Wild Bones will continue their involvement in Italy’s live music scene. In June 2013, they participate in the second edition of Raduno’s South Italy Blues Connection taking place in Avigliano (PZ), sharing the stage with other young Italian talent including Luca Giordano, Maurizio Pugno, Francesco Piu, and Gennaro Porcelli. They have also been invited to open for the American band, Moreland and Arbuckle, during Deltablues Festival in Rovigo. Wild Bones live shows continue throughout 2013 participating in various shows important within Italy and Europe. Before heading to the USA, the Wild Bones published their first album “The Road to Memphis” recorded in studio during 2012 and internally audio-edited. They like to be called “a little ol’ band from Sicily”. - See more at: http://www.wildbones.it/band/#sthash.JeXULsBC.dpuf
