We Voyagers

About We Voyagers

"We Voyagers" began in the fall of 2006, with the joining of many inspired people. Jordan Donaldson, Timothy Peacock, and Mason Mercer were looking for something new after an unsuccessful musical group entitled "Saurus". Everett Pauls and Michael Peacock, newfound friends, were interested in playing some music together along with little bro Tim. These artist would eventually join together when Mason and Everett talked in the halls at school and thought of possibly getting together to play some tunes. And so it began, the union of something bigger... The first practices were held in the basement of the Peacock residence. Although practice was limited due to the schedule of members, they somehow found time to get together. Nicholas Shanks joined the lineup on drums right when practices first started. Alot of the practice time was spent on setting up equipment, and some time on finding a sound. The original sound consisted of soothing keyboards and an overall relaxing "indie" sound. Electro-indie was the aimed for sound. Many names were tried for the band, including: "The Yellow Ponchos", "Paste", "Burning Birdies","Copia", and eventually "We Voyagers". Which Mason Mercer came up with during a cross country practice. Well the time came for a change in the lineup. Everett Pauls had to step out of the group. He was very busy with church, working at mcdonalds, and especially his other band (Ambient Silhouette). Although a good friend of the band he had to go his seperate ways. With the departure of Everett what was next for we voyagers? Well the members began to experiment with a new sound: HARDCORE! Two new members were added with the new sound.Cody Seaboldt on bass and Noah Amman on vocals. And somewhere in the mix michael peacock was no longer a member. Hardcore was a no brainer for the band considering all the members were fans of it. With nick on drums, jordan took up keyboards, timothy on 1st guitar, mason on 2nd guitar, noah on vocals(sort of) and cody on bass (and the temporary member Joel Salmon on triangle, Mika Kelly on tambourine, and Hayden Wiley on guitar). The first song was based on the "lunchables riff" as composed by mason. The band practiced every wednesday and thursday. for a while. But all good things have to come to an end..... Laziness came about and eventually we voyagers came to an idefinite hiatus. Eventually many of the members went on to other bands: (Ghost Of War, Fate Destroyed Us, It Takes No Guts, Jump The Gun, The Mason Mercer Project, and MONEY TELLS THE STORY). Mason kept the dream alive as he spent the dormant time of the band recording his solo album "Sounds Of The Season" which was a hit throughout the town. It included hits such as "First Snow" and "What Is Kwanzaa?" he wrote other demos in addition. There was still talk about making music among mason, jordan, and tim. So at the beginning of 2007 they eventually put the talk into practice. Revisting the indie style once more, We Voyagers was reborn. With the addition of some new instruments the song making began.... They Voyagers worked throughout that year dilligently working and reworking their material. The Voyagers came through with their hit single,"Miles Await" (otherwise known as "song 6" or infamously know as "The Folk Song"). Thankfully the Voyagers had hook ups to help them become more and more official with nice photoshoots, good recordings, and nice instrument purchases.
