About Warsaw Guitar Orchestra

Warsaw Guitar Orchestra was created in 2004 and since then has been led by a musician and guitar teacher Igor Wardak. It is a youth band. The main aim of the project is to increase interest in guitar music and to spread the idea of a esthetic education through contact with music. The team focuses on showing the range of possibilities of a guitar orchestra and presenting new interesting arrangements of well-known songs. WGO's repertoire consists of acoustic metal, acoustic rock, classical music and film compositions. Warsaw Guitar Orchestra is the winner of Vienna International Guitar Competition. In February 2014, WGO's cover of 'The Call of Ktulu' was included in a Metallica – Tribute CD, which consisted of the best covers of songs from Ride The Lightning and was compiled by the MetalHammer magazine to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album's release. The orchestra performed dozens of concerts at many musical events, as well as photographic and painting exhibitions. WGO has participated in many festivals, projects and competitions, among others in the third Polish edition of the "Got Talent" TV show. Articles about WGO also appeared on "Gitarzysta' and 'TopGuitar' magazines. The Orchestra's Youtube music videos have reached a very numerous audience.
