For a people occupying Northern Iraq, the struggle to mark an identity to the world is priority. Perhaps no medium can better express a soul and identity than music. Walter's music strikes a chord in the hearts of young Assyrians and Middle Easterners everywhere with a modern sound and ground-breaking lyrics. Born in Baghdad and currently working out of San Francisco, Walter's music and singing is a seamless fusion between the East and West. With his first new album in over two years, Walter returns, bolstering 11 beat-driven, electronically-charged, traditionally flavored tracks. This is the album that, in Walter's opinion, "can open the world's eyes to our music." Titled "Away", the album marked the birth of a new music genre: Assyrian pop.
