About Walktrip
Walktrip is a young emotive hardcore "skramgaze" band from Metro Manila, with band members consisting of Dave, Navid, Emman, Jhamir, Eli, Rhiyann, Lisha, and Ivan, a huge group of people involved in so many other bands like MATOKI, Nakasabit Sa Puno ay Ako, Salem and The Stellar Cats, North Sentinel, etc. A Shoegaze infused Skramz neophytes combining the sounds of loud reverberated and fuzzy guitar soundscapes with the gritty emotional harsh vocals and lyricism of the "first wave screamo." Trying their best to convey and express their strong emotional messages through the loudness and chaos of their music, by creating an open space for any emotions to be released. The band plays fast, aggressive, mosh-worthy jams which can be described as a gratifying concotion of the ethereal, fuzz-laden, feedback-heavy wall of sound elements of shoegaze (and adjacent) bands My Dead Girlfriend, Deafheaven, Whirr, Kraus, Megumi Acorda, and Trauma Ray[/artists] and the gritty, emotional, gut-wrenching screams of skramz legends Saetia, The Saddest Landscape, I Hate Myself, Funeral Diner, and Orchid. The band's music is mostly written in Tagalog and encompasses a wide array of subject matter ranging from existential dread to anti-fascist political anthems.
