About Walking Backwards

Josh and Darcy laid the foundations of Walking Backwards in December 2004. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. Building off a combined two decades of musical experience in classical guitar and piano, the duo began writing songs. In 2008, they recorded their first album, 'Faith In Shadows' which kept the dedicated duo busy for many long months. In the fall of 2008, they traveled the world and came back with a fresh vision and drive to share their music with the masses. They released 'Clarity Amid The Chaos' in early 2009 as a short showcase of the music they wrote while traveling. They teamed up with drummer Quade and bassist Marya and embarked on recording and playing some full-band work that changed their style and sound. The full band sound culminated in the release of Give Me Truth in August of 2011. After a brief hiatus, Josh and Darcy began the process of recording their newest album titled 'Shoot The Sun'. The album was released May 3rd, 2014. This album returns to the duo's acoustic roots but includes accompanying violin, cello, piano and percussion to round out the sound.
