About Velvet Stab
Playing together was nothing new thanks to earlier formations when they got together in February 2001. After the initial ups and downs of maturing into a band, in October 2002, Velvet Stab was born. A furious ride through the extremes, from fast paced punkrock fury to blistering metallic sludge, quieting down to angelic passages as the vocals follow with melodic singing and adrenaline packed screaming, this is hardcore for today. They aren't here to redeem the world, nor to preach the 'truth', they're just four kids, who play music that ignites something inside. Nevertheless they emphasize on writing serious songs with a message. That is why they endeavour to push the hardcore envelope by creating something diverse both musically and on the vocal side. The lyrics are often self-reflective, displaying a socially conscious attitude towards the surroundings, and provoking you to think. As the first step, they recorded their debut five-song EP titled "Where Parallels Meet" in 2003, and started playing live extensively. In the summer of 2004 they signed with Beniihana Records from Germany.
