Velvet Gentleman is the debut solo project of Bay Area based musician Alexandra Morte. Following a lengthy tenure of playing in various bands and projects over the past decade such as Night School and Camera Shy -- Morte finds herself, for the first time, at the helm of the writing, performing and production process. Merging her pillowy, pop-sensibilities and ostensibly cheerful vocals with emotive, introspective, indie-pop compositions Morte crafts songs that hearken back to early Madonna (think True Blue era) and The Cure while also delving into darker territory at times with heavier melancholic sounds. - Bandcamp
