Native artist, The State Prize laureate Vasif Adigozalov is author of 4 concerts, 5 musical comedies, opera «Oluler», oratorios «Qarabag shikestesi», «Chanaqqala», «Odlar yurdu» hundreds songs, opera dedicated to poetess Natavan’s life. Vasif Adigezalov was born in the family of famous performer of mugam Zulfugar Adigezalov in 1935, June 28 in Baku. Elementary education he got in 10-year Musical school attached to Conservatoire (piano class). He entered the U.Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. Vasif Adigezalov graduated from Conservatoire (classes piano and composition). He began his professional activity as a musical editor of Radio and Television Committee in 1958. Then he worked as Chief Secretary of Composers Union, musical editor-in-chief of the Magomaev State Philharmonic Society, director of the A.Zeynalli Musical school. He works as a teacher in the U.Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatoire from 1972 until now. He was elected on the position of the 1st Secretary of Composers Union. Dates of his biography: In 1989 - the title of professor. In 1990 - the prizewinner of State prize. In 1995 - the award "The order of Glory". At the moment Vasif Adigezalov is the Head of Choral Conducting Chair of the U.Hajibeyov Baku Musical Conservatoire.
