There are 8 bands called Vae Victis 1) Landmark Identitarian Rock band from France. The band has been frequently credited as a firebrand for Rock Identitaire Français. Vae Victis formed in the summer of 1993 by Jean-Christophe Bru and François Montagne during their time at university in Paris. Both men were involved with the Third Position organization Nouvelle Résistance. The band was later joined by Fabrice Lauffenburger on keyboards, Cathie Mollius on bass and Thibaud Lamy on percussion. Fabrice and Jean-Christophe had previously met when they formed Ultime Assaut. The first proper line-up consisted of Carine (female vocals and percussion), François Montagne (guitar and vocals), Jean-Christophe Bru (vocals and guitar), Cathie Mollius (bass), Fabrice Lauffenburger (piano, clarinet, flute and backing vocals) and Thibaud Lamy (drums, bodhran). In 1995, Cathie and Jean-Christophe left to form Ile de France. François's brother VIncent was then recruited to fill in on bass and accordion and Philippe would later take vocals. Carine would depart from Vae Victis on maternity leave. The band issued 3 albums and a mini-CD, as well as various compilation tracks through the years. They would finally split up in 2002.
