About VRï
VRï is a Welsh 'chamber folk' trio formed in 2016 by Patrick Rimes, Aneirin Jones, and Jordan Price Williams . The trio's intention is to 'present songs and melodies from the Celtic countries and beyond, while trying to match the energy of a noisy pub session with the subtlety and arrangements of a Viennese string quartet' . Since forming, the trio have performed throughout Wales and beyond, including appearances at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, and the An Oriant Inter-Celtic Festival in Brittany. The group won two awards at the Welsh Folk Awards 2019 , namely the award for the best traditional Welsh song ('Foles Llantrisant') and the award for the best album ( Tŷ ein Tadau ). 'Foles Llantrisant' also received a nomination for best traditional song in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2019. Tŷ ein Tadau was shortlisted for the Welsh Music Award 2018-19.
