About VEXXILLE
Vexxille (musician) Vexxille is an American independent musician, producer, and recording artist known for blending elements of darkwave, emo rap, industrial, and alternative electronic music. Emerging in the late 2010s, Vexxille gained recognition in the underground music scene for emotionally raw lyrics and genre-crossing production. He is also the founder of the creative collective 5150 SYNDICATE. Early life Kaleb Rasmussen, Professionally known as Vexxille, was born in Payson, Utah. Vexxille's family struggled through financial hardship most of his childhood life. Following the birth of his brother Sawyer Rasmussen in 2001, his parents moved them to a small house in the mountains of Heber City, Utah. Through his adolescent life and young teenage years, him and his brother struggled under an alcoholic father and violence. Vexxille struggled in school, and with other children, struggling to make friends. And through development took on the role of an outcast. The struggles at home and in social scenarios led both him and his brother to delinquency and inevitably drug use and issues with the law. At 18 he left home. And with leaving his younger brother with the problems at home, this led to his brothers first attempt at suicide from a Xanax overdose at 15. Surviving it, later the next year, Sawyer took on felony charges for breaking and entering and robbery at the age of 16. In 2019, at the age of 20, struggling financially and with nowhere to go, Vexxille moved into a shed behind his parents' house and began recording music professionally. With the help of his younger brother and only sibling, Sawyer Rasmussen, he co-founded the underground music and merchandise collective 5150 SYNDICATE to represent their outcast mentality. Sawyer was also closely involved in the early stages of Vexxille’s music career until his untimely passing due to an accidental fentanyl overdose in December 2020 at the age of 19. Career 2019–2020: Beginnings and Terminal vol. 1 With the encouragement of his brother and early collaborators including Dirty Chino of Dogma Society and his cousin Gateway Mafia, Vexxille released his debut mixtape, Terminal vol. 1, in 2020. The mixtape introduced his brooding, genre-blending sound and established his presence in the local underground scene. 2021–2022: Vade, tragedy, and rising momentum On February 14, 2021—Sawyer’s birthday—Vexxille released the single “Triple 7”, an emotional tribute reflecting the grief and hardships following his brother’s death. That same year, he released his full-length album Vade, followed by an EP titled REDUXX. In late 2021, Vexxille performed as an opening act for Black Smurf, alongside Dogma Society. In January 2022, he released the alternative-leaning album Vesper, marking a stylistic evolution with more experimental and electronic influences. He followed up with another live performance in March 2022, opening for Nascar Aloe. Vexxille’s work began to garner attention in Utah’s underground hip-hop scene, with 5150 SYNDICATE becoming increasingly recognized for its DIY shows, merch, and branding. In spring 2022, he released the EP Bleach and later joined Wifisfuneral’s Highway To Hell Tour in May. Following the tour, he released Terminal vol. 2, further cementing his gritty, emotionally charged style. Around this time, he began collaborating frequently with close friend ODDY GXLD. 2023–2024: Genre transition and new releases Over the next two years, Vexxille’s music began to shift from its emo-trap origins to a darker fusion of alternative, industrial, and synth-driven sounds. This genre transition was evident in tracks like: “The Worst” “Tether” and “Tether (Darkwave Version)” “44 Days / 44 Nights” “Skin” “Perception” “Life’s a Mess” “Heart of Glass” “Miss Me?” In April 2024, he joined Caskey, Taysty Beats, and Angel Hill on the Return of the Black Sheep Tour, continuing to grow his audience through live performances. In November 2024, He joined Storm Tour for an artist showcase event in Seattle, Washington, jointly showcasing 5150clo alongside his partner Indigo Greene, who later proposed to VEXXILLE in the following weeks at another show in Salt Lake City, UT, Musical style and themes Vexxille's music explores themes of emotional trauma, grief, addiction, existential dread, and resilience. His sound is a hybrid of emo rap, darkwave, industrial hip-hop, and alternative electronica. His early work featured lo-fi production and trap-inspired beats, but recent releases reflect a maturation in style, with cinematic synths and post-punk influence.
