The name Uma Floresta is Portuguese for "A Forest," referring to the song by The Cure. The project was initially conceived as a splicing of new wave and bossa nova influences, but has since expanded into surf, pop rock, acoustic, ambient pieces, spy music and spaghetti western influenced instrumentals.
