About U & Me Blue
유앤미블루 (U & Me Blue) were a South Korean modern rock duo consisting of 이승열 (Yi Sung Yol) and 방준석 (Bang Joon-seok). While studying art history at SUNY Binghamton, Yi Sung Yol met guitarist/vocalist Bang Joon-seok, and the two formed U & Me Blue. After returning to Korea, they released their debut album Nothing's Good Enough in 1994, which saw little success. The album was criticized for being too similar to British modern rock and was overlooked by the general public, who were unfamiliar with the style. In 1996, they released their second album Cry... Our Wanna Be Nation!, which incorporated their own musical identity. It received a moderate amount of attention but failed to reach major popularity. Although their albums did not receive much attention at the time of release, they were later regarded as "a band ahead of their time," praised by critics, and noted for their influence on Korean modern rock. U & Me Blue disbanded in 1997. Afterward, Yi Sung Yol began a solo music career, while Bang Joon-seok moved into the film music industry.
