About TurkodiRoma
TurkodiRoma is an independent musical project described by its creators as a “nomadic” collective with no fixed home — embracing a worldview that art belongs to the world rather than to any place. Its name means “the Turk of Rome” in Italian. Musical Style and Influences TurkodiRoma defines its style as “Subconscious-Pop” combining elements of electronic music, synth-pop, ambient, indie-fusion and experimental—with Turkish/Italian-language lyrics. The project’s music often features atmospheric textures, synthetic instrumentation and a melancholy or introspective mood. According to the group, their art rejects placing any authority — even that of the listener — above the creative vision itself. Releases & Recognition TurkodiRoma has released several tracks including Ben Yağmurum Geceye (2020), as well as tracks such as “Onu Da Hiç Silemedim Anısı Var” and “Sessiz Bir Odada Felakete Doğru Giderken.” Their song Bir Şeyler was reportedly licensed as theme music for a TV series on BBC in 2023, bringing international visibility. TurkodiRoma remains active and continues to perform live, with concerts listed in Turkish cities in recent years. Artistic Vision TurkodiRoma frames its music as a philosophical and emotional exploration, often touching on themes of exile, identity, inner reflection and existential wandering. Their self-description as a “nomadic collective” suggests a deliberate distancing from conventional music-industry expectations, favoring creative authenticity and artistic autonomy.
