About Turbo Trio
Its worthwhile to remember the 80s for the likes of Mantronix, Miami Bass, Mr. Afrika Bambaataas Eletro. Structured upon these references, the producer Tejo Damasceno approached MC BNegao and the producer Alexandre Basa do create Turbo Trio, a combo that has come out to thicken the sound hot pot of fast BPMs. And like the speed of its beats, its building up an unusual expectation at festivals and specialized recording labels in Brazil and abroad. Together, they've launched "Baile Bass" (2008, ybmusic). The influences, besides the afore said, go from reggae to Brazilian funk carioca, and through all that has being captured by the Trios radar, from the streets of São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro. The beats are heavily electronic, its textures send you back to Jamaican sounds, and the rhythms mostly fast and urgent beat heavy, to shake the brain.
