About Tristar Airbus

Tristar Airbus was a short-lived pop 'super group' (of sorts) from Stockport, United Kingdom, active in the early 1970s. They released the single 'Willie Morgan' in 1972, a football song dedicated to the Manchester United winger touted as the new George Best. Tristar Airbus' line-up included Jeff Smith, ex-Mindbenders drummer Nic Rothwell and guitarist John Kelman, formerly of local legends [artist}Wimple Winch. Also of interest: the B-side to 'Willie Morgan', entitled 'Traveling' Man' was sung by Graham Gouldman with backing from his future 10cc bandmates.
