Trains and Boats and Planes was a danish band that existed from 1989 - 1994, fronted by Nikolaj Nørlund (born 14th June 1965) - danish vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and later also known as a producer and record label owner (Auditorium). Trains and boats and Planes released 3 albums (the debut a mini-LP) on the independent Copenhagen label Cloudland, that also released the first three albums by 18th Dye among others. The band was produced by Kramer and were initially compared to The Go-Betweens and Galaxie 500 in the press (see Spook). One distinct touch to the sound was the cello. Bass – Søren Kruse Cello, Vocals – Soma Hammarlund (aka Soma Allpass) Drums, Percussion – Nikolaj Stig Nielsen Electric Guitar– Jens Ole Lembcke (The Tremolo Beer Gut) Vocal, Guitar - Nikolaj Nørlund Nørlund later founded the more lo-fi The Rhonda Harris parallel to a solo career and organising and producing conceptual anthologies like "På danske læber" and "Andersens Drømme", a career that has earned him several production prizes ,a legendary reputation at home, as well as solid international praise for some of Rhonda Harris` releases.
