About Toxic Child
Toxic Child born out of the ashes of a dream... Philip Cole lead guitarist and front man had a dream to combine hard hitting in your face guitars and drums mixed with a little old school flair to rock you cranium like never before. From of the sunny beaches of St. Petersburg, Florida to the mountains of Vernon, New Jersey, Philip Cole’s vision of a unique combination of styles and influences has culminated in the raw sound and energy of this music. Toxic Child has a sound that encompasses Punk, Pop, and Rock. It is this blend of old school and modern rock that provides them with the inspiration to create a musical style all their own… Philip Cole: “I am just a guy who likes to perform anywhere and anytime. I enjoy singing, acting, and playing my guitar. When I am not working, I really love to go windsurfing. It is such and incredible feeling doing what you enjoy... I also like just hanging out with my two golden retrievers Alex & Murphy. Although I have not been met with much success yet I feel my day will come as long as I keep going. “ Born in Newark, Ohio, and raised on the beaches of Florida. Philip Cole’s humble beginnings all started with the desire to entertain. Even as a small child he had pictures of him playing guitar and dancing around. His mother started him with violin & saxophone lessons in grade school. This was followed up by the discovery of a little band called “Kiss” that began the next evolution of his desire, to play music. So after much begging and pleading his mother got him a drum set, and then a bass guitar, which allowed him to start a band in his early teens. Inevitably the guitar came back into Philip’s life and became his instrument of choice. He played in many little bands throughout life and has enjoyed every second. He also performed as a singer in the schools choir and in the summer of 1988 he acted for the first time in a high school play. In 1993 while serving his country he founded a band called “Lustful Laughter”. Originally together to perform in a local talent show, but after a surprising win, they continued to play together all around Southern Maryland, until they broke up in 1995. A few years later Philip Cole had the opportunity to relocate to the New York area. So he packed up my stuff and headed to the Big Apple… Now a resident of New Jersey Philip Cole performs in many local clubs and has spent the last few years honing his skills and working on material. The current project is “Toxic Child” we have been in the studio working and the sound is really incredible. Check it out yourself…
